Privacy Policy – MyApiary

1. Data Controller

The data controller is MyApiary ("we", "us").

2. Data Collected

2.1 Account and Login

Email address and profile name via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In.
Internal user ID (Firebase UID) to link data to your account.

2.2 User-Generated App Data

Information you enter regarding apiaries, colonies, queens, inspection logs, Varroa checks, and sales.

2.3 Location Data

The app requests location permission to provide local weather data via the Open-Meteo API. Coordinates are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers.

2.4 Voice Recording and AI Processing

If you use voice-controlled inspections, transcriptions (text only) are sent to the OpenAI API to populate inspection fields. No identifiable data like apiary names are included in these API calls.

4. Storage and Security

Data is stored in Google Firebase with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Local data on your device is protected by OS-standard encryption (Keychain/Keystore).

7. Retention Periods

Account Data: Stored as long as the account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure.
Varroa Records: Stored for at least 5 years to comply with EU 2019/6 regulations.
